Dear Dr Forbes, You diagnosed our Becky with Down Syndrome, July 1983 when she was about a week old. For 10 years you treated her ailments and encouraged us while we lived in Marsabit, Kenya. Now she is grown up but still lives with me (her Mom, her Dad is with the Lord). She plays violin, piano, reads and writes, loves swimming, fishing, etc. I just want to thank you for all the help you gave us. If you want to see her check out our facebook under Linda Banner Cole. Thank you again. Sincerely, Linda (Mom)

Dr. Forbes, you have seen thousands of patients over your career. I just saw your name and wanted to make contact. You cared for our daughter in August 1987, in Nairobi, Kenya. You found a place for her at Gertrude's Garden Children's Hospital. She was comatose when we arrived from Mombasa. At 13 months she was diagnosed with bacterial & viral spinal meningitis, as Reye's syndrome. She lost 2 kilos of weight. On day six, she awakened completely healed and progressive regained strength. Today, she is 31 years of age and has had NO side effects. Thank you for your care and concern for her in those days. Grady & Janet Smalling, working Belgium and Kimberly, now a young lady, lives in California, USA. You can find us on Face Book: Grady Smalling
