Treatment of atopic dermatitis involves avoiding triggers that make the skin drier and itchier, such as perfumed soaps or exposure to wool. Patients with atopic dermatitis should use moisturizers twice daily. Good skin care is important to decrease the number of bacteria on the skin, and that includes a gentle washing, patting the skin dry, and then putting on the moisturizers to improve that barrier and seal the skin with Aesthetic Medicine

Dermatologists are medical professionals who specialize in diagnosing, preventing, and treating a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions. They undergo additional training specifically in dermatology to develop expertise in managing various skin conditions and diseases.

Here are some common skin conditions that dermatologists can diagnose and treat:

  1. Acne: Dermatologists can help manage acne, a condition characterized by pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts/nodules. They may recommend topical or oral medications, lifestyle modifications, and skincare routines to improve acne symptoms.

  2. Dermatitis: Dermatitis refers to inflammation of the skin, often caused by allergens. Dermatologists can identify the triggers and provide treatment options to alleviate symptoms such as redness, itching, and blisters.

  3. Melanoma: Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can be life-threatening if not detected and treated early. Dermatologists are skilled in identifying suspicious moles or skin lesions and performing biopsies if necessary. They can provide appropriate management and referral to an oncologist if melanoma is diagnosed.

  4. Psoriasis: Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition characterized by scaly, silvery skin patches. Dermatologists can prescribe medications, recommend lifestyle changes, and offer light therapy to manage psoriasis and reduce flare-ups.

  5. Psoriatic Arthritis: Dermatologists can also diagnose and manage psoriatic arthritis, a type of inflammatory arthritis that affects both the joints and the skin. They may collaborate with rheumatologists and other specialists to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

  6. Warts: Dermatologists can effectively treat warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They may employ various methods such as cryotherapy (freezing), laser therapy, or topical medications to remove warts.

It's important to note that dermatologists are equipped to diagnose and treat more than 3,000 skin diseases and conditions, including those mentioned above as well as many others. They can provide comprehensive care and educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.

If you experience symptoms of a skin condition or have concerns about your skin health, it is advisable to consult with a dermatologist. They can provide accurate diagnoses, personalized treatment plans, and guidance to improve your skin health and overall well-being.

First I would like to apologize for a previous review. I tried to get it removed but cant. I acted in haste out of frustration not from anything Dr Ghasi did or didn't do. It was me being frustrated from being in pain and getting worse BEFORE I even seen her. It was misdirected and I deeply regret commenting on her when she's been an amazing doctor. She has successfully worked with me to treat something I had for months that previous doctors were unable to. She is kind, extreamly knowledgeable, and showed me that there are doctors who care about your health and that it matters to her that she is doing everything she can for her patients. I would recommend her without hestitation.

Felt she didn't listen to what I was saying. Left not knowing what my condition was, just a bunch of preacriptions and no information on what is causing it or what to to if medication has adverse effects. When I did have a flare up and called to see if it was normal no one answered the phone. Left messages no one returned them.

Empty waiting room and yet rushed thru appointment. No samples taken or discussion on treatment And No diagnosis given. Just prescriptions and a come back in 3 weeks. Made me feel like she could care less about my health. It was 5 months of family doctor throwing what he could to help until I could get an appointment and I was literally in her office for 5 minutes top. Had more interaction with front desk. So disappointed.

A little leary at first when seeing Dr. Nazli Ghiasi as I read she will only look at one issue and I have many. I don't understand why there are negative comments as I found her to be very nice and informative. I have seen many dermatologists and all never in my opinion look good enough at my skin issues. Dr. Nazil Ghiasi did look and she looked good and there was bright lighting in her office which I have experienced dim lighting by 2 previous dermatologists. She looked at all of my skin issues and answered what they were. She also mentioned a comment in a prescription information paper and not to worry about it as it pertained to other types of treatment. I was very pleased and I am happy.

Terribly disappointed with Dr. Nazli Ghiasi. I drove all the way from Brampton to Mississauga Lakeshore for a major issue I have been suffering from, for the past couple years - itchyness all over my body. I started with the area most affected, she prescribed something and then I wanted to show her the area second most affected and she said she can't discuss the second spot and that my family Doctor should know better than to send me with 2 issues. I would have to make a followup appointment. I could not believe my ears and this Doctor's attitude. I thought - are you for real? It's the same itchyness bothering me all over and this is the second most affected spot with a horrible sensation and nothing works on it . She saw it and said I have to live with it. Less than 2 and a half minute consultation - Doctor who tells me there is a 4 month wait to see a dermatologist so I need to make a followup appointment for my second issue. It's the same itchiness affecting my body-not a second issue. If she could prescribe medication for my scalp, it would have taken her less than a few seconds to help me with that one horrible spot on my body but instead, Dr Ghiasi gave me b.s. about OHIP? Does the profession mean anything to you besides being a cash register Dr Ghiasi? Is a patient just a ticking timer that clicks in dollar bills for every second spent with them? I will not recommend this Doctor to anyone. Dr Nazli Ghiasi is a disgrace to this noble profession
