A plastic surgeon is a physician who has taken additional training in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery like breast Enlargement and Reductions. Typically, breast reconstruction takes place during or soon after mastectomy, and in some cases, lumpectomy. Breast reconstruction also can be done many months or even years after mastectomy or lumpectomy. Women who have surgery as part of their breast cancer treatment may choose breast reconstruction surgery to rebuild the shape and look of the breast. There are different types of breast reconstruction.

Post weight body loss contouring is a type of surgery meant for massive weight loss patients that have had a stable weight for 6 months or more. Surgeries are designed to eliminate sagging or excess skin from areas of the body such as the arms, back, abdomen and thighs.

Breast enlargement is surgery to make the breasts bigger and improve their shape. This surgery may also be called breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty. During breast enlargement, the surgeon places an implant in the breast. An implant is a soft silicone shell filled with silicone gel or saline (salt water).

Today's plastic surgeons often perform a variety of cosmetic surgery procedures, such as dermal fillers, Botox and chemical peels. If you have common skin conditions such things as acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis, you should see a dermatologist.
